About FrothWare
We build the whole thing.
FrothWare is an independent engineering studio. We design the enclosure, bring up the board, write the firmware, run the cloud, and answer the support email. That is not a boast about size. It is how we keep the details right.

Our approach
Thoughtful design, meticulous engineering.
Good products come from design, technology, and attention to detail working together. We hold every layer, from the bezel to the backend, to the same standard.
Software
We start from what the end user is trying to do, then remove everything between them and it. Every screen is built to be understood without instructions, and every interaction is tested until it is.
Under the surface we prefer small, well-understood systems over clever ones, and we keep shipping updates long after launch.
Hardware
Our hardware embodies the same principles: premium materials, restrained form, and a display chosen for the content it will show, not the spec sheet.
Controlling both halves lets us deliver cohesive experiences that off-the-shelf parts cannot.
Engineering practices
How we keep it reliable.
A few rules we do not bend, because the products we make end up in people's homes for years.
- 01
Test on the real thing
Emulators are for the first hour. After that, firmware runs on the actual board, on the actual panel, in a room with actual lighting.
- 02
Reproducible builds
Every image we ship can be rebuilt bit for bit from a tagged commit. If we cannot reproduce it, we do not ship it.
- 03
Fail safe, then fail loud
Updates roll back on their own. Devices keep working offline. When something does break, it says so plainly rather than hiding it.
- 04
Store as little as possible
Every piece of data we keep is a liability for the customer and for us. We design the pipeline to forget by default.
Expertise
What we are good at.
Sophisticated technology, intuitive design, and the discipline to keep them in balance.
Embedded and firmware
Board bring-up, minimal Linux images, display pipelines, power management, and signed over-the-air updates.
Hardware design
Enclosures, displays, and boards specified alongside the software they run, so the finished object feels like one decision.
Cloud and connectivity
Messaging gateways, device sync, and the small, well-understood services that connected products depend on.
Security and privacy
Encryption by default, explicit permissions, minimal data retention, and transparent practices across every product.
Philosophy
“Technology should enhance human experience, not complicate it.”
